Story & Gameplay

The Hobbit tells the story known from the first two movies of The Hobbit trilogy, namely An Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug. It adds a lot of humorous elements, making the plot more approachable even for the younger audience.The Hobbit can be played in single-player mode or in local co-operation on the split screen. The player will command a multitude of different characters, each with his own hilarious ability which should be utilized in order to solve the riddles player will face.

The gameplay involves collecting studs (in-game currency), dropping from destroyed environment objects as well as from defeated enemies, constructed objects, and completed minigames. They can be exchanged for new unlockable characters. The game is divided into Story Mode chapters and each can be replayed in Free Play after being completed if the player wishes to improve his score and to find the hidden treasures.
